Cervical Cancer Awareness Month
January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month – a time to highlight the importance of prevention and early detection of cervical cancer. Did you know that cervical cancer is one of the most common and preventable cancers amongst women? Yet African, Caribbean, and Black women are statistically less likely to get screened regularly. Scheduling regular pap and HPV tests can identify cervical cancer early, when it is easiest to treat.
If you are in need of a family doctor, the Black Health and Social Services Hub can help. Our team includes female doctors who stand ready to provide supportive care. For more information about cervical cancer screening and other services contact us at 647-812-5226. If you live in Mississauga, we are partnering with CarePoint Health to offer support for anyone wanting to get their pap test and other cancer screenings including breast cancer screening.
